Natural Talent Design Competition

Growing from the enormous success seen in the 2006 and 2007 competitions, the USGBC South Florida Chapter will conduct a local competition and sponsor the winners to participate in the Best in Show competition to be held at the USGBC national convention, Greenbuild.

Created as a traditional design competition in 2003 by the Emerging Green Builders (EGB) Committee of USGBC, the competition was brought to the local level in 2006. USGBC Chapters and EGB groups host their own local competitions around the country, sending their first place winners to Greenbuild to participate in a Best in Show national competition. This not only showcases the future talent and leaders of the green building movement, but allows students and young professionals to attend Greenbuild that would have otherwise not been able to afford registration and lodging.

Local Awards

1^st Place: $1,000
2^nd Place: $500
3^rd Place: $250
4^th and 5^th: Honorable mentions

NOTE: First place winners will also get travel, lodging and registration to Greenbuild. If a team or an international registrant should win the local competition, they would be given a stipend to assist in their airfare and hotel, in addition to EGB registration.

National Awards

1^st Place: $5,000
2^nd Place: $2,000
